Damian Saccocio

Damian Saccocio was a co-founder of The New Advisory Group (originally called Course Gateway) and now serves as an Associate with key domain knowledge in the areas of digital learning platforms, online communities, and innovation ecosystems.  Damian also leads Technology and Analytics at Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) which focuses on developing high potential minority talent into senior leaders of influence and impact across industry, government, and non-profits.

With over 25 years of experience as a tech strategy leader and innovator in digital media, software, science and technology policy, and higher education, Damian has held leadership roles at America Online, Open Text, several startups, and nationally focused non-profits. After receiving a Master’s from MIT, Damian became the first staff officer of the now highly respected Computer Science and Telecommunications Board (CSTB) of the National Research Council. Following his doctoral work in Technology Strategy, he chose to join the then nascent online services industry where he spent a decade at AOL in various product, strategy, and management roles.  First-hand knowledge of the world of technology-based startups is also a key part of his background that makes him an especially good fit with the unique skill sets of The New Advisory Group.

In addition to his work in business, the not-for-profit sector, and public policy, Damian has long served as an adjunct faculty member at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business where he has taught Technology Strategy for over a decade.  Damian holds a PhD from Rensselaer, a Master's from MIT and a BS in Computer Engineering from the Ohio State University.
